Scanning the scene in Helsinki tonight

What a nice way to spend your holiday and go to a sold out Metallica show.
The venue, Hartwall Arena, is a place where the big names do their shows in Helsinki.
I had a goal to get in as early as possible to get in the front of the stage.

Why?

I´ve seen the band in this Hardwired tour in Copenhagen which was the very first show of this European tour 3rd February 2017 and then again in London O2 Arena 22nd October 2017.
At those shows I had a seat and if you are seated the atmosphere is not so good than in front row.

Well after Norweigian band Kvelertak did their set there was a little break, roadies did their job and  carried Kvelertak´s drum kit and other equipment off the stage. Light went out and the intro started to roll.

Band played first three songs with fury and they were full of energy. Hardwired, Atlas Rise! and Seek & Destroy opened the set. Then Four Horsemen and Welcome Home (Sanitarium) before my favorite track from the latest album Now That We´re Dead. This song included kind of funny drum part when all band members did some kind of drumming.

The stage is really great cos it is 360 design so you see the band in every angle. Those monitors in the ceiling which dropped down were also great. They used a lot pyrotechnics also so they kinda turned every stone. If you pay 100 euros a ticket this is what you have to get!

This was the best show from these three shows that I´ve seen in this tour. In the first one (Copenhagen) Hetfield had problems with his voice, hen wanted to quit the show but the fans insisted that he´ll finish the show. He did but the next one was cancelled. They still played pretty good
At London the band was on fire too, audience was crazy, the band played very tight and nothing to complain about. But the atmosphere in the front row! Yeah, it fuckin rocks!
Positive thing is that they are changing songs in the set list for every show.
I did some checking and 3-4 songs were changed for these shows I´ve seen in this tour.

The long and hard touring is getting heavy for the band members. Kirk Hammett was treated by bands own physio in the middle of the set. Some of the audience tried to get pics of that but Kirk´s assistant said that no photos. It seemed that he had some kind of back problems.

The band promised that they will be back next year, in May with a new tour so until then...
HIT THE LIGHTS!
